Easter Celebrations
Easter is celebrated in many parts of the world.
Since I moved to Spain I've got to learn about the Spanish traditions of Semana Santa. Here are some of the traditions celebrated in America.
In the U.S. many people go to church on Easter Sunday. It is typical to dress up in nice clothes and spend the day with your family. When I was little my Easter dresses would always be bright and flowery. Another popular custom is to hunt for Easter eggs. Some people will boil eggs and then soak them in dye while other people buy plastic eggs and fill them with candy. Either way, the adults will hide the eggs around the garden and the children have to find them and put them into their Easter basket.
How do you celebrate Holy Week? What traditions do you celebrate with your family?
Happy Easter!
